What's Your Story?

April has been a full month for me, and probably many of you too. I'm preparing to take a deep breath and a nap at the end of this week as the days progress into May. Work in the Childrens' Academy has both stressed and blessed me. I've learned a lot about who I am and how to offer a child a cool drink of water when others are delivering bitter herbs.

This past week, my church held a week of fasting and prayer in preparation for a campaign led by over 400 organizations (denominations making up ONE church)to reach the southeast Tri-County area of Detroit (Wayne, Oakland, Macomb) with the Gospel. This evangelistic campaign is like none other I've ever experienced. For 40 days and beyond, we will be utilizing our mandate to LOVE one another and those around us in such a way that Jesus' love is magnified to those who are not following Christ. We are also beginning a 2-Word Story campaign for those 40 days.

What is a 2-Word Story? I'm glad you asked. :)

It is my story and yours too. For instance, the word Loved? Loved. might show up on a T-Shirt, billboard, coffee mug, or bumper sticker. In two words, my story is shared. This will open doors for those interested and brave enough to ask, "What's up with that? What does it mean?" And in a matter of a few seconds to however long the Lord allows, I get to share my story; how Christ loved me.

During the 40-day campaign, I will attempt to share one 2-Word Story here every day, beginning Sunday (Easter). Right now I have 22 words that I can relate to my life and how the Lord has rescued, loved, changed, given confidence, security, life -- among many others -- me.

Still unsure of what I'm talking about? Stay tuned. Sunday is on its way.

Besides, I will get to share with you for 40+ days, God's faithfulness and hopefully bring encouragement to your heart.

It's been a pleasure to visit with you.

  2. I'm excited. There were so many words to choose from and my church was giving away free T-shirts, I couldn't decide which one fit best. After narrowing it down to two, I wrestled for a week. THEN once I decided, I went to grab it and wound up with the runner-up shirt. I'll let you in on which one that is later.
