What am I talking about?
At the beginning of July I found myself faced with the frightening fact that there is no income. I was driving around on expired plates and had a phone bill coming due. No money. God's gentle whisper said, "Stand still. See the salvation of your Lord."
Honestly, when things are going well is when it's the easiest to say those words. NOT when fear is climbing up and camping at both ears. But I chose to listen and wrote a story describing a scene God gave me along with those words.
Exactly one week later, I received a gift.
Some of the best tasting coffee flows from that cup. Two days after receiving that, I was able to renew the plates and pay the phone bill. My cup runs over.
Later, by a week or two, my refrigerator died. It had been trying to for at least six months. We'd babied it. Unclogged the vents almost daily by the end to keep the food cool. Finally, it gave up and we gave in. I had a choice. Despair or believe that if God could do it once, He could supply our need again.
Within 24-hours, this beauty was ours. We simply needed to wait until the weekend to have it delivered. This provision is that which God chose to bless a family that has chosen to malign Him. He so loves us, even in our rebellion. I pray for their salvation.
The day this was delivered to our house, the neighbors and a couple others came to the previous owner saying, "I've got the money. I'll come get the fridge." The gentleman had to tell those people it was gone. God had a specific family in mind for that, didn't He?
He ALWAYS has a plan.
The events of this past month have made me think of a couple songs. "Because He lives, I can face tomorrow." (Gaithers), and the one I've posted here. "Through It All"
"If I never had a problem, I'd never know that HE could solve them." Isn't that the truth?
It's been a pleasure to visit with you.

You've reduced me to tears! And brought back memories of how God has worked in my own life, in similar ways! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWhen I stop to think about it my heart nearly bursts with the blessings of God. Sometimes it comes in the form of physical provisions, sometimes it's a hug. Sometimes it's a story, or a song, or a special friendship. Always, ever, it's from Him.
